Handstand Tutorial

Check out the best handstand tutorial on the internet 🙃

Why handstands?

They cultivate smiles. You can do them anywhere. They'll make you a better person.

Can I really learn how to do a handstand?
Of course! All it takes is the right level of strength, mobility, and motor control. I will work with you at the level that you are at to develop these fundamental movement skills.

How long will it take to get my free-standing handstand?

Depending on your current skill level, it will likely take months of consistent, targeted practice.  If you do you the work, you'll quickly see the results.

How much should I practice on my own?

You can see significant progress in just 10 minutes of practice a day, two to four times a week.

Are there any prerequisites?

Nope! This is an all-levels class. If you are concerned about limitations in your movement, I am happy to discuss over email.

How will handstands make me a better person?

Learning this skill requires discipline, and consistent, intentional practice. It teaches patience, and to trust the process. The intangible results of handstand training will permeate into other areas of your life. I promise.

About The Teacher

I am an engineer and fitness trainer, but most of all, an educator. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, whether it be about computers or movement. Handstands and locomotion bring me delight, and I find satisfaction in helping others discover this joy for themselves. In addition, I enjoy strength training, road cycling, and practicing vinyasa yoga.

I also really love rabbits 🐰

This is a comprehensive tutorial that goes over almost everything you need to get upside down. In our training sessions, expect to practice many of the exercises shown here.

The two drills that helped me the most were high frogger and the split leg kick-up.

Animal locomotion helps you develop the strength, stability, and coordination for handstands
